Dungen

Dungen (dun-yen) is a Space Rock, Jam Band for this decade. While they have been around since 2001, and have 8 albums worth of music, it's been 5 years since they were last here in the Bay Area, where we first caught them at The Bottom of The Hill venue.This time we saw them at The Chapel, another small local venue. This band is clearly worthy of bigger venues (say, The Fillmore), and they have a strong cult following, as was evidenced by the crowd in attendance at The Chapel. Lead artist Gustav Ejstes, is an incredible musician and vocalist, joined by veteran artists Reine Fiske, Johan Holmgard and Mattias Gustavsson. This ensemble of highly skilled musicians lead the crowd though track after track of spacey, jams that made it clear that there is a desire for this kind of music in today's world and with the younger generations. The new album, Allas Sak, (loosely translated into Anyone's Thing) is a wonderful place to start if you haven't tried them out before. Highly recommended on vinyl and with headphones.
