Sydney’s Flowers For Jayne and their Pocket Superman are set to ignite the airwaves with an important community message – “do you have a safety plan? Who or what will be your pocket superman”.
Pro-trans advocate and former Lime Spiders lead guitarist Jayne Murphy began recording Flowers For Jayne songs in Vancouver BC in February 2019. Since then, she has released an eleven-track album, a four-track EP and several singles. Her most recent single Greedy Rich Boys peaked at #3 on the AMRAP national rock/metal charts in April 2026.
“I’ve been focusing on releasing songs that address today’s important issues. Pocket Superman addresses sensitive social attitudes about violence in general and domestic violence in particular. It affects everyone!” said Jayne.
Jayne will be producing merchandise emblazoned with the striking Pocket Superman single cover art and has pledged to donate 50% of all merchandise sales profits over three months to Sydney’s Gender Centre, to help fund their community support functions including providing housing and family and domestic violence services to trans youth and adults. Unisex T-shirts and canvas tote-bags will be available to the public for purchase, and with the community’s support Flowers For Jayne hopes to raise more than $2000 for Gender Centre NSW.
Joining Flowers For Jayne on the night at Ryan's Hotel Thirroul will be Newcastle's melodic hardcore-infused pop-punk 5-piece LONG DISTANCE and Sydney's Northern Beaches all-woman 4-piece rock band WILD GINGER.
