Ivy Queen biography

Ivy Queen, whose real name is Martha Ivelisse Pesante Rodríguez, is an American singer and songwriter of Puerto-Rican descent. She is famously known as the Queen of reggaeton.

Ivy Queen was born on 4 March 1972 in Anasco, Puerto Rico. She later moved with her parents to New York, USA for schooling before moving back to her home country. At 18 she moved again, to San Juan, which marked the start of her performing career. There she met DJ Negro, a record producer who helped her by setting her up with the band The Noise. The group played locally and garnered quite a lot of attention, leading to Ivy Queen going solo in 1996. A year late she was snapped up by Sony Discos and released her debut album ‘ En Mi Imperio’ which was soon followed by a second, following its relative success. Her second album spawned her first big hit, ‘In the Zone’.

However, it was not until she switched label companies that Ivy Queen gained some real fame. She rose to national fame with her next three albums: ‘Diva’, ‘Flashback’, and ‘Sentimiento’, which all went to either Gold or Platinum status. Her seventh studio album, which she called ‘Drama Queen’, was released in 2010 and spawned the top ten single ‘La Vida es Así’. Singing a mix of genres, including reggaeton, hip hop and bachata, Ivy Queen is often referred to as the Queen of reggaeton.

Baby Bash biography

Ronnie Ray Bryant (born October 18th, 1975), formerly known as Baby Beesh and best known as Baby Bash, is a Mexican-American rapper, hailing from Vallejo, California.

Bash’s musical career began in the early noughties, not too long after injury had conspired to curtail a promising basketball career in college. Between his hometown of Vallejo and his new, adopted home base of Houston, Texas, he found himself performing in a number of hip hop groups, including Latino Velvet and Potna Deuce. That was enough to put him on the hip hop map in his own right, and he released a couple of moderately-received records in 2001 and 2002, ‘Savage Dreams’ and ‘On tha Cool’ respectively.

Those records did more than enough to earn Bash a chance with Universal, who quickly signed him and put out album number three, ‘Tha Smokin’ Nephew’, in 2003. It would ultimately go gold, with sales of over half a million. His first release under the Bash name, meanwhile - ‘Super Saucy’ - would secure him a top twenty single in the U.S., in the form of the Akon collaboration, ‘Baby I’m Back’. In the years since, he’s continued to collaborate widely, with the likes of Paul Wall, Miguel, Too Short, Problem and T-Pain having appeared on his solo records, whilst he’s made four albums to date with his rap group Lone Star Ridaz, too.

You may not recognize the name Ronnie Ray Bryant, but anyone raised in the 90s will recognize the name Baby Bash. I was actually a bit apprehensive about going to his show, mainly because I didn’t know a lot of his songs; but somehow, my friend convinced me that I still knew enough that it’d be worthwhile. As much as I hate to admit it, she was right. The crowd was huge! I hadn’t really thought about how big of a following he had, but it was awesome because the energy level was set so high. When Baby Bash took to the stage I found myself singing and dancing along. I was also pleasantly surprised at how great his raps are live, probably because of the emotion and love of what he does really shines through. He was great with the audience, constantly engaging them and getting them pumped up (even though I didn’t think it was possible to raise the energy more). The best part about the show was that he had a lot of guests come on and do their collaboration songs. Like Frankie J coming on stage to sing “Sugar Sugar,” and Sean Kingston coming on to sing “What Is It.” He closed out the show with “Cyclone” and everyone went wild! The whole place boomed, with everyone singing and dancing.

Rapping is a genre of music that I’ve never really got into. Not because I didn’t like it, but I wasn’t brought up around it, and just hadn’t had much exposure to the genre. However, I was taken along to a Lil Rob concert with a friend, and from start to finish I absolutely loved the show and the music, and went away and bought a load of his tracks on iTunes. I’d heard a couple of his tracks previously such as the collaborations, so when he played some of the songs I knew, I was even more enthralled by the show.
He gave an incredible performance, really using the stage and dancing around whilst maintaining his energy and rapping abilities. Before he started to play through the album Love & Hate, he threw his hat out into the crowd, and everyone was scrambling to get it. Who ever got it is super lucky! It was really cool that the DJ who was the opening act was also the DJ for Lil Rob’s set. He absolutely nailed it on the decks, and when Rob was improvising with his lyrics or melodies, the DJ was great at mixing the track up to make it fit.
He was great at shouting out to the audience to get us all involved, and I didn’t stop dancing. I can’t wait to listen to more of his stuff and come back again!

I didn't get to see legado 7 at concert. There was a long line just to enter the event and It was very crowded. And made it pass the doorways.

Watching a DJ who is multi-talented and can perform self written lyrics, play multiple instruments, and DJ is something very rare. The performance that DJ Quik gave was one like I’d never seen before. He opened the set behind decks, and blasted out a couple of remixes, and some of his own mixes, before moving downstage to the mictophone setup.
He picked up the microphone and opened his vocal set with Pitch In on a Party, which had everyone singing along and dancing straight away. The band behind him were tight, and playing his complex riffs with ease and skill. He played several tracks form both The Book of David, and The Midnight Life, which went down really well. In a live performance, it’s easier to discern the lyrics that the artist is singing, especially being as close as I was to the front. For me, this made the concert even more exciting, enabling me to engage with Quik’s material more easily.
The talent that he showcased was incredible, switching from complicated rhythmic vocals, to the synth , and keys, and occasionally revisiting the turn tables. He was also great at getting the audience going and enthusiastic. He was encouraging everyone to sing along, and even held the microphone out occasionally. It was an epic evening, and I’d love to see him again.

Snow Tha Products show was even crazier then last year when she came to Santos Party House for her "Fuck Your Plans Tour". I got water splashed on me, got dizzy while being right up front as she did her thing. It was an amazing night can't wait till she's back in town.

The thing that impressed me the most seeing Suga Free live was the way that he interacted with the audience, cracking jokes, encouraging us to join in, and thanking us humbly for our support of his music. His career before he went solo was a hip hop duo with DJ Quick, and it was an awesome surprise to see that Quick was performing with Suga Free when I saw him recently. Their chemistry is great, and the way that they were bouncing their energy off of each other made us all in the crowd really energised and ready to dance.
He opened with the title track from his new album The Resurrection which is a great collection of charismatic lyrics, with a conversational style to the delivery. It was exciting to hear it performed live as it’s only just been released, and the audience were going mad for it. Free took time to teach us little hooks and tags from the songs, and shouted out lines of lyrics for everyone to repeat. It was really cool to get involved to that extent, and the way that we were all dancing around seemed to give them both more energy in their performance, as they played for over 2 hours, and maintained their energy throughout the show.
They played from some of their collaborations, as well as Free having Quick support him on tracks from Hi Power Pimpin, and Sunday School, as well as the new album. They played a couple of covers and remixes too which had the audience singing along and loving the atmosphere. It was an amazing set!
