Somerville’s premier concert series presents Imaginary Expedition

Canadian folk duo with chamber music sensibilities, Imaginary Expedition explores natural and emotional landscapes in intricate harmony and counterpoint. Toronto-based Victoria Dobbs and Glyph Greenleaf create all-original works combining folk songwriting with early music composition techniques, drawing people closer with their alto and baritone voices and lap-style classical guitar. Their songs spark daydreams and send listeners on journeys through memory, grief, gratitude, and self-reflection, with lyrics that explore emotional terrain shaped by the vivid changing seasons of the North, with imagery drawn from great lakes, old-growth forests, open prairies, wetlands, shield rock, and luminous skies.
