In 2007 Roman Rappak and Adam Ainger started to play music together, but it took a few years before Breton would be fully formed. Beats formulator Ian Patterson, bassist Daniel Mclivenny and visualizer Ryan McClarnon later joined them. Rappak and Ainger came together with the intention of a multimedia artist collective, working from a former NatWest bank building in Elephant and Castle, which they dubbed Breton Labs.
Together the band released their first EP entitled “Practical” in 2010, followed shortly by their self-released EP, “Sharing Notes.” Breton has also remixed a number of other songs by other artists, including Lana Del Rey, Local Natives, The Temper Trap and Alt-J. In 2011 the band released another EP entitled “Counter Balance,” then signed a deal with Fat Cat Records, resulting in the release of their first full-length album “Other People’s Problems,” which was released early the following year.
For the next two years, Breton extensively toured and made appearances at various festivals, such as Hultsfredsfestvalen in Sweden. While still traveling, the band continued to write new material and when they returned from touring they started their own label and signed with Believe Recordings. In 2014 the band released their sophomore album entitled “War Room Stories,” which peaked at number 49 on the UK indie chart.

Breton are a breath of fresh air. When you are stood before them you will feel the loose indie vibes flow through you and the togetherness of the crowd. This is only until the chorus when their double layered lyrical magic while have everyone head banging and jumping in procession.
The energy is undeniable and the passion they breathe is felt in every word. Their sometimes-unusual choice of instruments (i.e the organ) creates an eerie ambiance, though the fun up beat tempo keeps it fun and jumpy.
The Band originate from London and formed what they are today between the years of 2007-2012. It started with several EP's and now the band have released two full albums, started their own label and are climbing to new heights. Watch this space!
