I saw Angel live back in 2010 when he supported a relatively unknown Jessie J at XOYO and even that early on, I could tell that his sound was incredibly different to any other UK male on the scene. It was clear that he had the potential to bring RnB back to the UK music scene, like Craig David did in the early 2000s before it slowly died out once more.
Being a solo male artist in the UK can be incredibly difficult when your sharing fan bases with the likes of One Direction, The Wanted and trying to compete with huge US artists also. It is often difficult for artists like Angel to get the recognition that they deserve.
I was able to catch Angel live last year and was stunned by the growth in him as an artist and also in his music. Songs such as "Wonderful", "Time After Time", "The World" and "Vegas" are huge tracks which I'm sure would make more of a impact in the charts, if RnB music was as celebrated in the UK as it is in the US.
With one of the best male voices in the UK currently, Angel and his music really does deserve more recognition for the artist he truly is. Seeing him live a number of times has only reinforced this more.
The gig was fantastic. Angel was great and did a great performance. The venue was nice and intimate. Only thing was the band was a lil too loud so drowned angel out sometimes. But overall angel is awesome
