I saw what's left of these guys a few years back when I took a sabbatical to the UK. I listened to them as a kid because my dad was really in to them, and it was nice to relive those memories seeing them live. They played all the old favorites, and even some new ones that I had never heard, and were just as good. the crowd consisted of a lot of older folks who still insisted to dance so you know how much they liked these guys. After I belted a few drinks down, I got in to the mix as well, dancing with the seniors as my wife laughed and looked on. She even got a few pictures that she'll never let me live down. It's nice to be able to go to places like this and relive the old memories, but also make new ones that I can now look back on, so I have a lot to thank for being able to see these guys play live for the first time after being a fan from such a young age. I am hoping to see them again for our anniversary next year, so here's to hoping tickets go on sale soon! Definitely see them if you remember listening to them when you were younger.
Gerry and the Pacemakers has been a band that has seen six decades. They were an international success, prominent during the 60’s. They had a couple of similarities to the Beatles in that they came from Liverpool and were managed by Brian Epstein and producer by George Martin. They still have a little bit of steam left in them to do another UK Tour! Their energy is fantastic, and they reel in the whole audience with their catchy hooks and fantastic stage presence. Gerry Marsden still has his energy to sing through those three number one hits “How Do You Do It?” “I Like It”, and “You’ll Never Walk Alone”. It is safe to say that they are one of the most influential bands of pop music, and it’s fantastic to see them doing what they do best. There are some other songs that make this audience happy such as “Ferry Cross the Mersey”, another song that brings the house down with the catchy guitar lines and the catchy chorus from this classic single. I am in awe.
