Goatwhore

Of the 15+ shows I see per year, I usually know only one or two of the bands on the bill and usually don't know very much of their material. Such is the case for Goatwhore, whom I knew mostly from friends who told me they slay. And slay they did.

The venue is enjoyable, but at times mediocre. In fact, most of the metal venues in Reno blow, but that's beside the point. As for Goatwhore, their stage presence and guitarwork was unmatched. I do not know if they've played Reno before, but the crowd energy was pretty weak for a band of their tenure, so I hope that if they return, they headline. Most of the audience was in attendance for Black Dahlia Murder and when they took stage, the place erupted into absolute chaos. Had we all been wearing armor and carrying swords, I'd venture to say at least ten people would have been mortally wounded.

As for Goatwhore, they made a fan out of me. Now I'm going to partake in my "thieving ways" (as Louis said) and check them out on iTunes.

For a $15 ticket, I'd say it was money well spent.

Hardcore metal at its best. The local opening acts set the stage for an aural devastation the likes of which only the purest form of metal music has ever seen.
Simply put, I was humbled at the quality of the talent set before me, from Legion, Venomous Maximus and Demoniacal Geneflection.
There was enough variety in styles and melody, that once Venomous Maximus finished, you were left with such sonic satisfaction that once Goatwhore started you were amped and ready to headbang for another set.
This was a gem of a show and is highly recommended that if they ever tear through your part of the country, make the effort to go see them and support local acts. Keep rockin' and keep those horns in the air!

Goatwhore were fantastic last night when I saw them play live at the underground arts. Their lightning fast and rocking riffs really sounded top notch. They were really on their game and very much rocked. They played about 2 hours with songs mostly from their first two albums.

Simply put epic!! The show was amazing and so worth it! Had a great time and Goatwhore seriously rocks your face off. The Merch tables were super stocked which I was stoked about. And the venue Dante’s was awesome as well. Can’t wait for the next show

Goatwhore was opening for Crowbar and I didn't really listen to them much prior to this show. They brought a lot of energy and really got the crowd warmed up. I would definitely recommend seeing them live.

I wouldn't know! The venue didn't post any set times nor did they have available parking so by the time I arrived we missed them. Nothing against Goatwhore because they are awesome but the venue was trash.

Fantastic show at Glasgow SWG3 last night.Atmosphere was amazing. Can't wait to see them again as this was my 1st time seeing them. Sound was astounding and loved the interaction with the crowd.

GOATWHORE was awesome!!! Great set and great crowd turn out!!! Played all my favorite songs too!!! I drove over 100 miles to see them, because they were headlining the show!!!
