I saw Angel Haze in Brooklyn back in 2012 and once in California in 2013, and I still catch myself singing her music and blasting the New York EP (2012), Reservations (2012), and Dirty Gold (2013) in my car.
I would argue that she's one of the most interesting young rappers at the moment. Her music is totally raw, personal, and possesses a distinctly New York vibe that is articulate, funny, brash, and unapologetically self-assured.
She had a live backing band (guitar, drums, etc.), but the choruses were pre-recorded. She kept pulling people (specifically, women) up onto the stage and harassing the crowd, forcing them to sing with her. She was running back and forth across the stage, and I was stunned the moment she opened her mouth to rap.
Werkin' Girls, New York, A Tribe Called Red (which is beat and synth driven), and Battle Cry were some of my favorites. I really lost my shit at the shows. Echelon (It's My Way) is really weird, and I loved it. She did a four song Spotify Session in Austin that I would suggest anyone who wants to hear a live performance look up. I also have a Miley Cyrus cover she did. I don't know how I got it, but I'd imagine it's on Youtube.
What a night what a talent Angel had the crowd in her hand as soon as she hit the stage banging out track after track of her latest album back to the woods and she was great at getting the crowd involved which in turn fed the crowd and kept us all bouncing up till the end then she got us all on stage going for it all to shock of climb staff who quickly tried to clear the stage. Great night top artist well done angel haze hope to see you back next year....
I saw her in Zurich and the show was amazing. Everybody was dancing, jumping and rapping along and the energy all over was pretty spot on. She's so down to earth and was really nice when I met her after the show. 10/10 would recommend! Best night ever
Angel Haze is a great performer who interacts a lot with her audience, including inviting members up on stage with her, and at one point Haze even got off the stage herself to come dance with the crowd. I enjoyed it and it was a fab experience.
One of the best small scale shows I have been to! Angel Haze killed it, as expected! Started a little late for a Sunday evenin but still a great show! I'm more of a fan than I was before seeing her live!
