Bring on Le Peuple de l’Herbe, a French band who play electronic dance music. Their music even has tendencies to lean towards afro beat and club music too, with their distinct writing style, that is made up of the interesting instrumentation of drums, a trumpet, keyboard and flugelhorn, singing, sampler and bass and then an audio engineer on stage too, to almost make sure that it all runs smoothly I’m guessing. There is a touch of euphoria when this band get up on to the stage, the theatric are to a minimal as they’re all about the music, there is such a buzz in the room after N’Zeng plays the most complex trumpet solo, hitting some extremely high notes and expressing some wild and obscure ornamentation. They perform a mixture of their music going right back to their first release and heading all the way up to “A Matter of Time” which was released a couple of years ago. There are rumours of this band releasing a new album soon! It’s fair to say that they join the ranks of their French contemporaries, Daft Punk and M83.
