Originally forming as Happy Go Luck in 2001 by Rody Walker, Luke Hoskin, Tim Millar, Moe Carlson, and Arif Mirabdolbaghi. They changed their name to Protest the Hero in 2002 and shortly thereafter released their first EP entitled “Search For The Truth.” The day that the band members finished their senior finals, they went on a three-week "Rock the Vote" tour from Toronto to Halifax to raise awareness for the upcoming Canadian election, as well as gain a few fans on the way.
In 2005 the band released their debut album entitled “Kezia” which was a concept album, described as a “situationist requiem.” In 2006 the band signed with Vagrant Records and released “Kezia” in the United States. That same summer the band took part in the Vans Warped Tour, and continued to extensively tour as well. They returned to the studio and released “Fortress” in 2007. Later that year, they co-headlined the Tour and Loathing 2007 Tour with co-headliners All That Remains,Blessthefall, Threat Signal and The Holly Springs Disaster.
The band continued to tour and it wasn’t until 2011 the band released their third album entitled “Scurrilous.” To promote its release, the Protest The Hero toured Europe, and made a number of appearances at various festivals worldwide. They toured well into 2012, and released “Volition” in 2013; the album was crowd-funded via indiegogo.

I've seen Protest twice now, the first time I saw them I wasn't a huge fan. However, the first time I saw them they blew my mind enough to drag me in. I started listening to them more then went to this show, it was absolutely impeccable. No flaws whatsoever, Protest is easily one of the best shows you'll ever see live. If they're ever in your area, get tickets, you will not regret it.
One of the best shows I've been to, The bands that opened the concert were awesome! And PtH was amazing, the energy and the interaction with the crowd were 10/10, I would have liked to listen Cest la vie and Mist but it was amazing!
Fucking awesome show, amazing just like last year! All of the openers were fricken sick too. So glad I got to see A Wilhelm Scream, Auras and Cyclamen. The music was great and the atmosphere of the vogue was fucking great too!
Incredible show! Rody's vocals, Luke's epic guitar riffs, Tim and Cam and Mike...all were simply amazing live. Extremely happy I got to see them perform--looking forward to seeing them again!
