The extremely recognisable guitar picking of the start of She’s So High broke through the silence, and Tal Bachman had started playing his hit song from the wings of the stage before even appearing on stage. His band were positioned on stage and started playing away, before Bachman ran onto stage just in time for the chorus. The entire audience were singing along and hyped for the rest of the show after this opening.
Although over the years he’s only released two albums, there are a variety of singles that padded out the set, as well as a few of his own unreleased tracks. As well as having an incredible range and powerful falsetto, Bachman is an incredibly talented guitarist. He isn’t too self indulgent, which is grounding and modest, but the guitar solo that he did play was fantastic and had everyone cheering along.
It was great to see that he was trying to please his audience, playing requests that people were shouting out, and also sticking around after the show to sign autographs. It’s lovely to see how grateful some artists can be, and this was a wonderful example.
