Dean Blunt is actually one half of lo-fi London and Berlin based band, Hype Williams. Working with Inga Copeland on the Hype Williams project, their High Beams E.P has been described by The Guardian as "Lo-fi psych stomp, easily the best five-song, six-and-3/4-minute EP you will hear this year".
But his new solo project is far more chilled out yet tackles interesting political issues. In an interview with The Guardian last year Blunt said: "The sign of the end of the world is when man is filled with too much information. You're going to have this younger generation who are so fucking tuned in, and their brains are so wired, that we're going to be obsolete."
In tracks like The Narcissist and The Pedigree, jazz and electronic synth undertones skitter beneath Blunt's soulful, crooning voice.
In November. Blunt will perform with Nightmares on Wax in Glasgow before a brief trip to the US for a few dates, at The Studio at Webster Hall, New York on November 6th and at Jewel's Catch One, Los Angeles, the following day (7th November).
