Went to see Avishai Cohen's "Free Jazz" project and left immensely disappointed. For a decade, I have listened to and loved AC's thrilling experiments to incorporate and reinterpret elements of various musical traditions within a modern jazz framework that transforms both into something new at an uber skill level.
But this right here was, to me, an utter abandonment of all of this, of everything modern, of every attempt to create something new. What remained was just plain boring, soulless and embarrassing kitsch. I frankly do not recognize this musician any more.

Simply amazing. They really gave all themselves on the stage producing a really high quality performance. I was impressed to see many young people so enthusiastic about this kind of music.
