Jerry Garcia was an icon during the 70's through the 90's, gaining most critical acclaim while leading the Grateful Dead. The Dead basically started the whole jam band craze, creating a culture within rock music. During his waning years, he started the Jerry Garcia band. He was a virtuoso on the guitar and has a childish soft voice.
The band mostly played covers of famous songs, done with the styling of Jerry Garcia. The ambiance during one of the shows is very laid back and typically an older age range. The experience of going to see a live show that stars Jerry Garcia is mouth watering, as I never got to go see the Grateful Dead live. He is a legend and will always have a place in my top gigs list. Watching him play the guitar is mesmerizing, I am a sucker for electric guitar :-). The band itself is typical for a rock band, guitar, bass, drums and vocals. Jerry being on guitar and vocals. He hasn't played a show in a long time, but if he announces a comeback, get there!
