John Michael Ferrari to perform 3 of his originals songs at the Nashville Music Awards Showcase at 7pm, with his Nashville band and singers Tarryn Aimee Smith and Dene Williams, and Sophie Love on Sunday, May 24th, 2026, at the Texas Troubadour 2416 Music Valley Dr, Nashville, TN 37214.
John Michael Ferrari's story-telling music show of some of his original alt country songs at the E String was mesmerizing. I didn't see one person leave before the 1 1/2 hour show was over.
John's songwriting and performance was soulful, morally complex; varying from darkly humorous to child-like humor. One never knows what's coming out of John's mind and we have the impression that not even John knows. John is completely "there" with his audience.
John's evocative croon is both vulnerable and supremely confident, expressing the naivete and happenstance of romance in one breath, while honoring the gravity and melancholy that defines our singularly human journey in the next.
The John Michael Ferrari Band was extremely together and each arrangement is unique with memorable musical hooks. Great vocals by Katie Jensen and Nomad. The Professor on bass and Sexy Sticks on drums beautifully supported John Ferrari's guitar.
We particularly enjoyed when John brought up his 14 year old student, Mad D, to the stage to sing a number with him, a children's song he wrote, "I Look for Things to Say." Absolutely adorable ... both Mad D and the song.
John Michael Ferrari puts on a show that doesn't let you down for a moment. This is easy listening that often hits hard but is always most enjoyable.
Highly recommend!
