His stage name he created actually refers to the computer virus also called 'Netsky', which is where he got the inspiration from, as he is quite a quirky character.
Daenen produces music that relates to what is known as the liquid funky style, drum and bass music genre, it includes the use of instrumental and vocal context to his music and he said High Contrast's remix of "Gold Digger" was a 'major influence on him', that links to his style of music and the genre he is involved in.
In 2009 Netsky signed with Hospital Records, which bands such as "High Contrast" and "London Elektricity" were also signed to alongside him at the time. He also went on to win a nomination as "Best Upcoming Producer" within months of his first release at the "Drum + Bass Arena Awards", which made his popularity grow as he became a more well known figure in the industry.
The record label “Hospital Records” who he was signed to at the time released his self-titled album in 2010, and his second album called "Title 2" was then released in 2012 with the labbel. The newer album includes three singles and a deluxe edition that was later released with the fourth single called "We Can Only Live Today (Puppy)".
He started his own live project in 2012 that he made himself, which he referred to as the "Netsky LIVE! Show" with a full band he has toured with and done work with since then, which he announced at Hospitality Brixton.The band includes member’s 'BABL' who is the keyboard player, alongside their drummer 'Michael Schack' and what's known as the master of ceremony 'Script MC'.
Hailing from London, England, Mundell began making music in 2007, debuting with the track “Your World” released on Intrinsic Records. Following the release, the producer formed a relationship with the Liverpool-based drum and bass label Viper Recordings who would release all of his music until 2013. In 2008 Metrik issued the singles “Moving On / Stranger” and “Technicolour / Zero Gravity”, and a year later the singles “Sunset / Forward Approach” and “Time To Change”, which despite proving popular in some circles failed to raise the profile of the young musician.
The following year however, with the release of the EP “The Departure” Mundell enjoyed his greatest success to date. Led by the recognisable single “T-1000”, the record hosts contributions from techno producers Christian Smith and John Selway as well as the Welsh electronic artist Jan Burton. 2010 also marked the the start of Mundell’s remixing career, notably crafting remixes of Funkstar Deluxe’s “Do You Feel” and Skepta vs. N-Dubz’s “So Alive”.
In 2011 the producer issued his sophomore EP “Between Worlds” featuring the singles “T-2000” and “I See You”, the latter of which with vocalist Kathy Brown. The free-download EP “Flightwave” followed in 2012, spawning the single “Engine Room” and “Freefall / Drift”, which marked Mundell’s final releases on Viper Recordings. In November 2012, the producer signed with independent drum and bass heavy weight Hospital Records, who issued his fourth, self-titled EP in 2013. The musician subsequently collaborated with Camo & Krooked on the track “Aurora”, before returning to the studio to record his debut full-length album.
Ahead of his highly-anticipated debut, Metrik issued the single “Want My Love” featuring Elisabeth Troy. It was Mundell’s first charting single, peaking at No. 61 on the UK Single Chart and No. 31 on the UK Dance Chart. The full-length “Universal Language” was released in September 2014, peaking at No. 13 on the UK Dance Chart and spawning the subsequent hit “Human Again” with vocals from Jan Burton.
Netsky is a young unassuming producer from Belgium who really puts on a great live show! His massive liquid drum and bass sound and high-energy tracks make for a night of music akin to the likes of High Contrast, Pendulum and Chase and Status - but perhaps with a more innocent melodic tone. Something that no doubt suits his younger audience. His own love for his music and performing in general really comes across in his live shows, as he’s always dancing behind his laptop and often diving into the crowd to get close to his fans and have a great time in amongst the action. Netsky looks like a genuine and normal guy, which makes his performances less like normal gigs and more similar to a massive party with all your friends. I caught him at O2 Academy Bristol in March 2013 and the atmosphere was crazy, everyone’s hands were in the air throughout the intense drum sections and even the slower interludes. The live drummer on-stage definitely made the faster sections more intense and the MC kept everyone’s energy up by constantly interacting with the crowd.

Metrik, a.k.a Tom Mundell is London based DJ/Producer who has been making huge waves since his debut in 2008 and his live show matches the stature of his psychedelic drum & bass. He continues to impress crowds across the UK and Europe with his huge dance floor fillers which are a mixture of original tracks and remixes for some of the most prolific artists including Subfocus and Ellie Goulding. Tom confesses to having a varied music taste ranging from progressive rock such as Pink Floyd & Incubus to the classic fathers of electro The Prodigy and contemporaries such as Eric Prydz. This mixture of influences is reflected in his sound and therefore his electro style is really varied which for a live show means the audience are currently being surprised by huge melodies and hooks that you may not find from Metrik's peers.
This variation keeps crowds engaged, excited and hanging on each of Mundell's movements as he mixes and drops with complete fluidity to create hysteria in the baiting audiences. Recently performing a killer set at Global Gathering, he'll be returning to the UK for a night at the O2 Academy in Brixton before heading to Manchester, Birmingham and Bournemouth to name a few later in the year to take part in the legendary Hospitality nights with High Contrast and Camo & Krooked. The American trio of Ivy have had much success over the last 20 years, and every time a new track or album is released, I’m the first one to get my hands on it, so understandable when the indie pop group released their tour information, I was the proud owner of my tickets straight away. The groups innovative style gained them much credit and recognition in the late 90s, and they’ve maintained the success of Apartment Life throughout their career.
They took to the stage in their traditional set up, with Adam and Andy heading to their instruments, and Dominique taking the centre spot by her microphone. They began the show with Fascinating, and had the audience singing along to the hit from their newest album. The majority of the audience were familiar with all of their work, but those who only seemed to know the newer tracks, appeared to enjoy the entire concert regardless. They played a great selection of the older hits and their newer material from All Hours and In the Clear.
Their interaction with the audience seemed a little shaky at the start of the show, but once they’d warmed up and the crowd were singing along, they became more enthusiastic, shouting out and encouraging dancing
