Being such a renowned producer and DJ of deep house and techno, I didn’t think I’d ever get the chance to see Efdemin perform live, so when I finally got my hands on the tickets, I was super excited to see the renowned musician perform. Of course he’s incredibly well known for his progressive techniques and styles, so I had really high expectations for the show, and I can say I definitely wasn’t disappointed. He came out to his DJ desk in his usually smart attire of a shirt, and launched straight into his track Drop Frame.
I didn’t realise previously, but he sings the majority of the vocal samples on his tracks, and knowing this made the set even more enjoyable, realising the vast spectrum of his talent. He played a great selection of tracks, from his new to his older work, ad even did some improvisation mixes for us right there. That was the real demonstration of how talented he really is, mastering the spinning decks, working with all of the fades and samples, whilst giving a great performance at the same time.
When he had a spare second, he was great at shouting out to the crowd and getting us all on board dancing and singing along which was a lot of fun. The energy kept building and building all night, and even at the end of his two hour set, Efdemin seemed to be buzzing.
