Goodness me Allister are just one of those bands that take me right back to the start of the 00’s. They are and have always been one of the bands at the absolute forefront of the pop punk scene, with all the necessary components to maintain their place in the pop punk hall of fame. They’re not one of the biggest bands in the world by any measure, nor have they transcended whatsoever, but they still have the same following they do now that they had almost fifteen years ago, and I got to go and see this first hand as they performed live. They performed a solid two hours of just brilliance, with their chugging power chord riffs that set the tone for all of the songs that follow. Tim Rogner is pop punk personified, with his guitar hanging below his waist, his skinny jeans, tattoos, piercings and spiky hair.
Allister perform such a high octane set including songs such as “Scratch”, “Overrated” and “Better Late Than Forever”. It’s one of those unforgettable sets that make everyone feel so nostalgic. They finish with quite possibly their biggest single to date, a track called “Somewhere On Fullerton” which has every single person in this venue jumping up and down singing one of the biggest songs of their adolescence.
