Biografía
I think we can safely say, without too much presumptuousness, that sleepy towns in the northern part of Yorkshire don’t generally tend to be known for turning out cutting-edge electronic musicians at any kind of prolific rate, but that does little to change the fact that the town of Wheldrake managed at least one with Rusko; he’s been one of the UK dubstep scene’s most interesting and colorful characters over the past ten years. He started making music in 2006 after graduating from the Leeds College of Music, and quickly moved south to London, where he became involved with the dance label Sub Soldiers. It was through his work with that imprint that he came to be associated with fellow dubstep producer Caspa, and his first full-length release was a collaboration with his contemporary, entitled FabricLive.37.
Since then, he’s turned out two further solo albums of his own; the painfully-titled “O.M.G!” (if you think that’s bad, check out the album art) dropped in May of 2010 and introduced Mercer’s erratic style to the genre proper, and when he followed it up in March of 2012 with “Songs”, he proved that he could work on his unique spin on the style without the need for high-profile collaborations; where the likes of Gucci Mane and Dirty Projectors had popped up on “O.M.G.!”, “Songs” did almost entirely without guests, instead cementing Rusko’s reputation as one of his scene’s most promising talents.

Influential dubstep producer Rusko’s live shows are the epitome of frenetic, a performer who demands energy from the crowd and makes it almost impossible for club-goers to stand still while he jumps on stage for almost the entirety of his 90 minute set.
Rusko’s live gigs are often frenetic, his insurmountable energy reacting to every single beat, jumping, dancing, and flailing his arms while sing-talking interjections and acknowledging the crowd whenever he gets a chance (which turns out, is quite often). The crowd, although enthusiastic and energetic in their own right, can barely keep up with the energy levels of Rusko’s onstage performance, which is aided by back-up dancers (a seemingly odd choice for a dubstep DJ), and token lasers beams protruding from the stage.
His last full album release was Songs in 2012, with two previous and one forthcoming album in the works. On top of hits like Hold On (feat Amber Coffman) and Woo Boost, he’s got a slew of remixes under his belt to balance out his live sets.
Performing at summer festivals and clubs alike, Rusko has an extensive North American tour planned for this fall to showcase his new album, simply titled ‘!’. If the title is any indication of its content, it’s sure to bring even more energy to Rusko’s on-stage persona.
Thus was an absolutely phenomenal show! The venue was very intimate and the sounds were through the roof in front of the stage. Always enjoy seeing Rusko's crazy dance moves, and the throwbacks were mixed in properly. Thank you for such an awesome show RUSKOOOO!!!
I've seen Rusko a few times live but the tour he's on right now with Zeds Dead was the most incredible show I've ever been to. He is hands down the best DJ on the planet. He played a lot of dubstep a lot of drum and bass and a lot of whatever and just crushed it!
