The programme reads, “Tchaikovsky’s violin concerto” as Janine Jansen takes to the centre of the stage to perform what she does best which is the violin. She is very relaxed before the beginning as she walks out onto the stage in front of the orchestra in her red dress complete with her violin. She is truly captivating; from the very moment that she puts her bow to the strings. Her performance etiquette is amazing to watch, as she demonstrates such passion. Every single detail of this rendition is just ridiculously on point, from the vibrato, the double stops, the staccato, and the slurs and of course, the phrasing. It is just so incredible to watch. Jansen looks so calm, tranquil and at home standing there at the front of the stage. I would highly recommend going along to one of her concerts to witness Janine Jansen doing what she does best. How does one person make one violin sound like 4?! It is no surprise that she has put in her 10,000 hours!
