A couple months ago my brother and I went to see Berlin. The show was absolutely amazing. I had been to one of her shows previously and I knew she was very friendly with the audience. During that show Teri Nunn (lead singer of Berlin) jumped on the shoulders of a bouncer and he walked through the audience with her on his shoulders. That was the first time I got to touch her when I held my hand up. This time trumped that. We were sitting in the front row and one of the people working there came around and gave us a wrist band. When we asked what it was for, he said it was for going on stage for one of the songs she was going to sing. During the concert started she played the song The Metro during which I was in the front row. I held my hand out to her, she grabbed it and we sang the whole song with me while we looked in each other's eyes. Later we were called up on stage for Dancing in Berlin. I'm not the most open person in the world so I was nervous about going up to dance. However, my brother provided me with a few beers and I was ready to go. While I was up there I felt free and alive. I got right up next to her (wearing my Berlin shirt from the previous concert) and danced right next to her for about 1/2 of the song. When the song was over we had to vacate the stage. As we did Teri Nunn sat down by the drum set. I took my opportunity. I went over to her and thanked her for allowing us to come on stage and dance with her. She looked up at me and thanked me. Greatest moment ever. After the concert was over I had her second album Pleasure Victim with me and she signed it. I'm more of a Berlin fan than my brother and he was pleased when I told him that was the time of my life.
Terri Nun took the stage at The Mountain Winery and over the course of the show proceeded to wow the crowd with her performance. The crowd was ready to party, and when the show began with No More Words, many in the audience rose to their feet dancing. Once the song ended, the first of several standing ovations ensued. The band ran through its classics, following with Metro, Masquerade and I Want You. As the show progressed, the attendees filled into the venue and each song was met with greater and greater applause and cheers. Throughout, Ms. Nunn seemed genuinely appreciative of the audience's enthusiasm, moving around the stage, performing with celebratory poses involving the audience and ending her songs with big smiles.
This performer never ceases to amaze me with the vulnerability she allows by walking into and through the audience as she performs. This time it was during Take My Breath Away, the band's mega hit. Terri then introduced Transcendence with a short story about her recently passed mother and became emotional. She followed this song up with the classic Sex I'm A... bouncing around the stage and cavorting with the other musicians. At this point, the entire crowd was on its feet swaying and singing with the music. Finally, the all-to-short set ended with Terri bouncing up and down in bare feet to what she called a "religious song", AC/DC's Highway To Hell. I have seen this performer many times over the 40 years of their existence, and from my perspective this was one of the most expressive and joyful performances in recent memory. Kudos!!
Never ever disappoints! This was my 4th time seeing BERLIN & they are still as good as ever! Terri looks & sounds amazing!!! She sang all her hits & also did new music too. She's wonderful to her fans, as she gets peeps up on stage with her. Such a cool woman!
