The Gig Slut blog :
Going first to Oslo last night The Gig Slut was lucky he had decided to go there early to make sure.Just as well, expecting GLASS to play at 20.30 .I found a time posted of 19.50,and after Scott said hello to me,they got on and played about 5 minutes later.
I had not seen this new incarnation of Jessica Winter, she overcame some sound problems, when the vocals could not be heard and soldiered on.
The Mrs was here, clutching his handbag ,and being his affable beaming self and chatty as ever.
We enjoyed this rather special set, with Jess doing a rather good jump from the stage. A good dynamic set here with heaps of style.
We decided the 2nd act was not for us,and we walked to Birthdays and were in good time to catch Pqlyr playing their first London gig.
Promising is the verdict here.
I left to go back to Oslo to see what Karin Park was all about.....
A little late, 10 minutes was enough for me. Possibly a spectacle for some, with a bit of dance, but electropowerpop.
I raced back to Birthdays with the idea of getting some sounds I like into my ears.
I managed to get an almost half set from the wonderful F.U.R.S. which for me was 100 times better than what was happening at Oslo.
Neil is always happy for me to do some checking out for him !
Having a few words afterwards with Liam,Amina,Roger Morton, manager, and the now blonde Elle, and Neil,I made my way around 23.00 to Dalston Kingsland, chatting to a couple from Gospel Oak,who had seen someone at Servant Jazz Quarters.Changing at Highbury and Isl. I viccy lined it to Vauxhall for the 23.40 to Hampton Court, and there got R68 All The way Angie, who was in one her not listening moods, with earphones in .
