Biografía
Born into a family of musicians and with their father Steve Kilbey heading up the Australian rock band The Church, it’s no surprise that the twins took the musical route. Spending most of their early years shuffling between their mother’s native land of Sweden and Australia, helped to shape the transatlantic sound which became a pivotal element within their music.
Taking their name from their great aunt, the girls originally began using the name Saint Lou Lou (pronounced Say Lou Lou and eventually became their official name) as they embarked on their music career. With early influences coming from the likes of Bowie, Lauren Hutton and The Rolling Stones, the duo self-released their debut single “Maybe You” in 2012 presenting their dream-wave pop sound with elements of 70’s disco. Catching the attention of French electronic label Kitsuné, the label re-released the single later that year.
In 2013 Elektra and Miranda formed their own record label á Deux where they released their debut EP “Julian”, which provided them with their first live performance to an audience of over 1,000 people at a festival in Stockholm alongside Icona Pop. Later that year, they caught the attention of Columbia Records which led to them signing pair. Say Lou Lou’s major label debut came in the form of the “Better in the Dark” EP. Using the concept of duality accentuated through the use of dark and light (a theme which would weave throughout their releases) the EP manoeuvred between happy dance pop and ethereal and dark indie elements receiving rave reviews from publications such as NME magazine.
In 2015 Say Lou Lou released their debut album “Lucid Dreaming” through their own label, the record featured tracks such as “Games for Girls”, “Angels (Above Me)” and “Nothing But a Heartbeat”.

Swedish/Australian sister duo Say Lou Lou remain to be one of the most exciting things to happen to pop music in a very long time. Recently playing London's Heaven to launch their debut album 'Lucid Dreaming' the duo entertains a packed out venue of fans and newcomers alike with their delicious tones and cinematic synth.
With two accompanying musicians, the girls appear in matching gold tank tops and run through 'Everything We Touch' 'Glitter' and 'Games For Girls' as a mini taster to the album. The vocals sound brilliant and the energy the sisters share onstage is infectious, especially when they keep declaring their love for the capital city. 'Angels Above Me' allow for some sweeping Scandinavian vocal acrobatics before 'Nothing But a Heartbeat' closes the main set soundtracked by the largest cheers of the evening. They return for a double encore of two of their oldest tracks 'Beloved' and 'Better in the Dark'. America and the UK are fast becoming infatuated with this duo so expect to see them fast ascend the stages and venues.
The Say Lou Lou concert was around amazing! They had a great opener, Phoebe Ryan. She gave a stellar performance and announced that it was her birthday. When Say Lou Lou came on, they called Phoebe to the stage to sing happy birthday to her in Swedish! It was very cool! Say Lou Lou seemed very welcoming and invited the audience to move in as close as possible. It wasn't a full house. My guess is because it was a Monday evening, but it was a great way to start the week. I enjoyed it a lot and hope that the girls come back to Portland, Oregon soon!
