Seeing Corey Taylor solo live shortly after Slipknot’s bass player died a few years ago while in Baltimore will certainly be an experience I never forget. One of the most powerful heartbreaking experiences I have ever seen during a concert.
Everyone there could feel the emotion and the pain coming from him during the song “Snuff” and right after the song he slumped over his guitar and lost it, it was so powerful. The rest of his show was great too, so much emotion and heart goes into a song. Seeing him solo is such a departure from his other projects but being solo is where he truly shines and this performance was no exception.
The crowd fed off of his pain and went crazy for him after every song. Easily one of the best shows I have been to. Aside from Snuff he also played a Dio song “Holy Diver” which is a classic as well as a couple other covers. U2, Tom Petty and Alice in Chains. He of course played several songs from his other band Stone Sour as well. Corey is a massively talented musician across many genres and if you ever have the chance to see him you should, you will not leave disappointed.
Amazing night. One of the best ever, Corey is truly a brilliant entertainer, he combines his sense of humor with his musicianship, and makes for a hell of a night. Highly recommended, in my case, I'm assuming it's a one time only, cuz I made the trip to NYC, for the show. But it was worth it. Totally. You can even get someone that does not knows Corey's bands catalogue and get them to have a really funny night.
For the more informed about Corey's, it's a nice opportunity to get him to play "slower" songs, with a unique acoustic touch.
I had an amazing time seeing Corey Taylor [and friends] in Garden Grove. There was light rain throughout the performance at the outdoor amphitheater, but that didn't stop anyone from rocking out and having a great time. Corey had something funny and witty to say between each song, and he covered a wide variety of rock sub-genres. I would highly recommend him to anyone who enjoys rock music.
