Performed Concerts invites audiences to experience how music can unfold in new forms, when the concert takes place at the theatre stage, creating a surprising and aesthetically driven, narrative musical experience.
The first edition in the series of Performed Concerts presents an artistic encounter between the acclaimed Danish-Faroese musician Brimheim and the Berlin-based, cross-aesthetic duo MOTHER.
In the encounter between Brimheim and MOTHER, the performance concert becomes a portal – a threshold between two artistic eras. A ritual regicide and a farewell to the RATKING universe, where the figure of KING must fall, allowing something sensual, magical and intuitive to emerge.
Brimheim’s latest album, RATKING, explores human duality, romantic dependency, and the need for external validation – told from the perspective of a woman who believed she could only be whole through her performance and her audience. In the second part of the album, the urge to reject, destroy and burn down these illusions takes over. On the stage of Nørrebro Teater, the concert becomes a performative rite of passage. The music is reimagined and transformed through the encounter with MOTHER’s visual and performative universe, and through the performative world created by MOTHER, Brimheim will never be the same again.
