Sean Kiely y Chris Morrissey

Sean Kiely is a singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Jersey City, NJ. His music starts in folk and ends up somewhere harder to name—acoustic at its core, but restless enough to pull in Americana, jazz, and whatever else the song asks for.

No Depression called his debut "one of those sublime and unassuming efforts that sneaks up on you until you find it won't let go." That's a pretty good description of his ongoing work. The lyrics are patient and precise, chasing ordinary moments to conclusions that feel both surprising and inevitable. He's called himself an "alt-folksonger present for the cosmic joke," which is apt.

Kiely's 2024 record Postcards of the Reckoning made NJ.com's Top 10 Albums of the Year and debuted at No. 15 on the FAI Folk Chart. In 2025 he opened for Richard Thompson at a sold-out White Eagle Hall, and in early 2026 he opened for Iron & Wine at an also sold-out City Winery for WFUV. He kicked off 2026 releasing "This Is The Year," a single featuring Kaia Kater on vocals and banjo. It previews a new LP Long Live The Low coming this fall.
