Trey Songz

Trey Songz AKA Tremaine Aldon Neverson... my FAVORITE male artist on the scene – and not because of his stunning good looks (he is definitely a ladies man... they don't call him Mr. Steal Yo Girl for nothing!), but because Trey is sincere, down to earth, loves the Lord, his family, his fans, and us (his Angels). Trey keeps it real all the time; in conversation and through his lyrics!

When Trey performs, the ladies are always at attention! One memorable experience was during PPP tour at the Orpheum in Memphis, TN (8/15/10) and I had the pleasure of taking his tie off and he gave it to me!

My first time meeting Trey was 3/15/08 at the Cannon Center in Memphis and I took a picture with him! I was so excited; stayed up all night!!!

I saw Trey in concert 3 times that year. I've seen him a total of 8 times between Arkansas, Tennessee, Mississippi, and Louisiana, last being at last year's Essence Festival which was an experience of a lifetime, and I had the opportunity to fellowship with other Angels and his mother, Mumma April, who is such a beautiful woman inside and out! I have nothing but the utmost respect for her & Trey!

Fun facts... Trey wanted to be a rapper. He came on the scene in 2005. Trey's Angels began 9/14/2010 (I've been member since day one). Trey has 5 albums and the 6th album Trigga will be released July 1, 2014! You gotta get your own copy! If you've never seen Trey in concert, you don't know what you're missing and would be in for a treat!

It seems bizarre to think that Soulja Boy - Soulja Boy Tell ‘Em, to give him his full street name, or DeAndre Cortez Way as he’s known at home - has only just turned twenty-four; he seems to have been around an age, with his global smash ‘Crank That (Soulja Boy)’ topping the charts in the U.S. and falling just short, at number two, in the UK, as long ago as 2007. He made a ton of cash of the back of that success, too, placing eighteenth on Forbes’ list of Hip Hop Cash Kings in 2010 with seven million dollars in earnings. His debut record went platinum, but the two follow-ups have failed to meet with as much success; you have to think that his fourth album, due later this year, could be make-or-break for the rapper. He’s continued to play live in the years since, performing tracks like ‘Turn My Swag On’ whilst flanked by a frankly unnecessary entourage and with little sign of anything in the way of a backing band, there have been accusations of his gigs amounting to little more than glorified karaoke. He’s likely to go all out on promotion for the new album, though, so expect his first UK dates in three years to follow shortly.

Brian Todd Collins, or more notably Kid Ink has been taking the US hip hop scene by storm after charting well with his first two albums and hitting the billboard top 100 with a handful of singles. A sincere performer, he worked his way up to the celebrated artist he now is and this organic rise to fame is reflected in his live show.

A dedicated performer, he has toured around the globe to make sure his music reaches his fan base. His stop off in the UK at the end of 2014 was a triumphant affair, packing out venues and playing mammoth sets of over 20 songs. His stage set up was scarce and Collins only real support was a huge light display but with a vocal as commanding as his, he really doesn't need anything else.

His shirt is quickly removed to reveal the reason he has the stage persona of Kid Ink and he runs through almost every song from his first two albums finishing with an emotive and combative version of 'Show Me', his collaboration with Chris Brown. The rapper boldly placed his stake to his claim of the hip-hop industry and he did it with a good deal of reason.

It probably tells you a lot about the current status of Ray J’s career that he’s best-known, to many, for appearing in a decidedly dubious videotape with Kim Kardashian that’s now widely available on the internet, but either way, it’d be a shame to overlook what he contributed to mainstream hip hop and R&B in the early part of his career as a result. In 1997, he saw his debut record, Everything You Want, flop in the U.S., but he fared much better on the follow-up, the aptly-titled This Ain’t a Game; perhaps similar sentiments had brought about a change in attitude for the rapper, who turned in a superb, hour-long opus that included production from The Neptunes and featured Pharrell Williams on two tracks.
Since those days, though - which saw him have two chart hits with ‘Wait a Minute’ and his duet with his sister, Brandy, a cover of Phil Collins’ ‘Another Day in Paradise’ - he’s struggled to reach the same level of commercial appeal. He still toured the U.S. throughout 2011 and 2012, though, appearing on bills with the likes of Soulja Boy and DMX and running through quick-fire, career-spanning sets with the aid of a DJ and a hype man. UK dates look a way off, though, unless he can turn his career around; he might need more than some internet controversy to pull that off, though.
