Samantha Crain y Jolie Holland

this was one of the good concerts a saw these last times ! two huge talents ! brilliant songs ( adele couldn' t sound better ) and what a guitarist !! for those who can' t get enough of Dave Rawlings !

Jolie Holland, with the Shy Hunters, gave solid performances at the Rock and Roll hotel on 6/22/14. The Shy Hunters lead with an engaging set of indie rock, with Indogo Street fronting on vocals and lead guitar, backed by multi-rhythmic drums, with keyboards (one player) covering both bass and atmospheric fills. When Jolie took the stage, the performance shifted to eclectic roots rock. Jolie's singing and personality were excellent. Her backup group was very solid, with two lead guitars (including Indigo Street from the opening act), who both somehow managed to rock out without detracting from each other. (The bassist also translated over from Shy Hunters.) The set ranged between covers and original numbers, rockers and relaxed numbers. Jolie was constantly engaging, a great performer - an excellent evening, all in all.
