Rachel Podger directs this program celebrating Bach’s legendary concert series at Zimmerman’s coffeehouse in Leipzig, featuring music by Bach and composers he admired. Our coffeehouse blend includes Bach’s Orchestral Suite no. 3 with its sublime Air, Vivaldi’s groundbreaking Concerto for 4 violins, Handel’s Concerto Grosso, op. 6 no. 6 and Gallo’s explosive variations on “La follia.” Podger takes centerstage in Bach’s Concerto for violin in G Minor.
