"Opened in 1929, Newcastle City Hall's stunning architecture includes sandstone walls & pillars, marble staircases, a clocktower and a magnificent ballroom with 14m high ceiling. The interiors and building have been restored throughout to recapture the elegance and charm of the 1920's era. With seven function rooms including the magnificent 820 seat Concert Hall, Newcastle City Hall plays host to civic receptions, national and international conferences, trade shows, seminars, corporate meetings, weddings, social functions, school formals and community gatherings. Newcastle City Hall is one of the few venues in Newcastle with multiple function rooms contained within the one building. This allows for great combined use of the many spaces. Located in the heart of the Cultural Precinct opposite Civic Park and adjacent to the Civic Theatre, Newcastle City Hall is within close proximity to public transport, accommodation, the CBD, Honeysuckle and parking.
