I have been watching Toubab Krewe since 2008 when I first saw them at bonaroo. In 2018, they are still a high energy instrumental act. Saw them this time at Milkboy in Philadelphia. The opening act was Pansong, a jazz influenced instrumental act oriented around the Handpan, a new kind of precisely engineered steel drum, played by a percussionist. Both acts were fantastic. Pansong was a particular highlight, it was their first live venue performance and they were really outstanding. Toubab Krewe was also fantastic as always. Great show!
So glad they came back to Last Concert Cafe, the show was amazing as usual! They played the classics and some new stuff that sounded good as well. Some guest musician from the opener joined in and it was great!
