Since their first underground releases in 2003 (on Shadow Law Recordings and Nerve), Noisia have explored a variety of electronic genres – including electro house, dubstep, liquid funk, breakbeat, and drum & bass – as well as successful collaborations and remixes with major electronic artists like Moby, Pendulum, The Prodigy, Skrillex, and Deadmau5.
By the late 2000s, Noisia's production and remix talent were attracting greater and greater success, with a UK chart entry in 2010 as producers of Hadouken!'s album "For the Masses" (#19 in the Albums Chart). In April 2010, Noisia's first studio album "Split the Atom" was released – and then given a special edition re-release on Deadmau5's own Mau5trap label.
The group took their name, NOISIΛ, after spotting the word 'vision' printed on an upside-down videotape – also the inspiration for the group's own label, Vision Recordings. The trio are prolific and inventive collaborators, having produced and released recordings under the names Drifter, Hustle Athletics, and Nightwatch. In 2013, Noisia and hip hop group Foreign Beggars together released the "I Am Legion" album as a supergroup of the same name.
Each year, Noisia play some of the world's biggest electronic music festivals including Identity Festival, Lowlands, and Stereosonic; in 2012, Noisia headlined at Coachella. Acting as curators for their own "Noisia Invites" events, featuring some of their favorite artists, Noisia's influential talent-spotting events have spread from Amsterdam and Groningen in the Netherlands, to Berlin, Germany and London, UK.
To date, Noisia are three-time winners of the Beatport Award for Best Drum & Bass Act, also picking up the award for Best Drum & Bass Single at the 2013 Bass Music Awards (for their collaboration with Skiddle on "Could this Be").

If you want a bass-filled, floor-shaking, night of dirty dubstep mayhem, a Noisia gig is exactly the place for you. The Dutch 3-piece collective, consisting of members Nik Roos, Martijn van Sonderen and Thijs de Vlieger, have been setting dancefloors alight worldwide since the early 2000s, as their super-production aliases NIghtwatch, producing albums for big names on the scene like Hadouken!, Wretch 32 and Wiley. Seamlessly transitioning to releasing their own music in 2005, Noisia saw commercial success in their own right with their debut album ‘Split The Atom’, a majestically brutal, energetic awesome mix of catchy electronica hooks and quake-inducing basslines. They know how to work a crowd into nothing short of a frenzy, and their fans can always be sure of a slamming, up-‘til-dawn party at one of their shows. When I saw the boys at the intimate venue Inside in Toronto, a few years ago, they absolutely killed it.- the entire crowd of geared-up young things did not stop dancing, and everyone was bathed in sweat (in the best possible way) by the end of their crazy energetic 75-minute set. Noisia didn’t even grace the stage until around 1am, and that was when things really got turned up. They played remixes of Skilliex and Deadmau5 hits, as well as their own tirades of bass like ‘Messiah’ and ‘Bad Dream’. The finale was their hotly anticipated remix of Pendulum’s ‘Masochist’, which was the proof, if ever it was needed, of their musical prowess and party-loving souls.
Noisia are a classic drum and bass electro house outifit from the Netherlands. I have been waiting to see them live since their debut album Split the Atom was released in 2010. Seeing them play live was an absolutely stunning experience. Noisia have racing electronic beats, pounding drums and funky melodies throughout their music. In tunes like ‘Oh Oh’ this is held back with a building of eerie vocals and beats before hitting the listener with their full on break beat rhythms. Noisia well and truly lived up to the hype at Emmaboda Festival Sweden this year. Joining a line up with Borgore, Pegboard Nerds and Syster Sol to name a few, Noisia truly stormed through their set leaving the crowd breathless. In the tightly packed atmosphere the melodies and beats reverberated through the crowd and brought a pulsing energy to the dancing. I think my highlights were ‘Running Blind’ and ‘Alpha Centauri’: ‘Running Blind’ because it has a dark ambient intro that really translated in the big venue before transforming into pounding beats and vocals, and secondly, ‘Alpha Centauri’ because it has been a long time favourite of mine due to the ethereal melodies and sweeping electro house distortion. On stage Martijn van Sonderen, Nik Roos and Thijs de Vlieger truly entertained the crowd and left a stunned audience. I was thrilled that I got to see such a storming set.
As soon as you hear the drop, then you need to be prepared, because it will most certainly cause everyone to go completely mental. Just a few words to live by if you ever happen to see dubstep and drum & bass trio Noisia live.
Hailing from the Netherlands, Noisia specialise in remixing famous tracks in order to make them as crazy as possible, which they have done previously to such pop songs as Labrinth's 'Earthquake' and Katy Perry's 'ET'. The way they combine wobble bass, drums and synths in order to produce such a dirty, hard-hitting sound is incredible and will force you to screw your face up and head bang.
They also have a wealth of original material which is just as catchy. In 2012, Noisia played their home town of Groningen following the release of their second big studio album Split The Atom. Although their mixing was rough round the edges, it simply didn't matter as they mixed tune after tune of Noisia's collection of deafening dubstep and drum & bass which they themselves had definitely got into, screaming into the microphone in the middle of songs as if they were ecstatic fan girls. The set was immaculate too and looked as if you've just stepped into the future. As long as you're not too afraid of a massive mosh pit and the sight of the Noisia lads acting like total hooligans, you are certain to have a good time at a live gig.
Oh my gosh!!! I attended the Noisia show at Soundcheck in Washington DC! Thijs from Noisia trio was the DJ for the event. I can honestly say it was hands down the best drum and bass show I have been to in my entire life - and trust I have been to plenty! The crowd was massive - as expected for such a huge headliner! The party was absolutely insane. Thijs completely rocked the club. I was very happy to hear he was "experimenting" with us in DC as he played several, several brand new Noisia tracks! The club went wild. He was only to play until 2 am and decided to keep the party going for another hour because he was haVing such a great time! When the show was over he even came down from the booth to interact with the crowd and meet everyone. Very humble person. I cannot stress how much fun I had at this show, to be able to hear brand new Noisia tracks and meet Thijs!! I had the time of my life - go see Noisia!!
Amazing night! Stayed until the very last song. Highlights were Noisia and Joe Ford. Massive venue with two smoking areas and loads of toilets. Only long thing was queuing for our coats. Such a good night!!!
