I finally got to see Pascal Obispo at Le Dome and was not disappointed. The French singer-songwriter still has it! Although his singing career started back in 1990 I feel he writes and sings at his best today. Therefore if you get a chance to go and see him now is the time to do it.
Pascal sings about everyday life, love life, maybe his own?! Which is highly relatable to the average person who has been heart broken before. He sings each song with compassion and you can tell he has out his whole heart into writing each lyric. This also comes through in his vocals which are smooth and composed. He performed my favourites of his, “Milesime”, “Lucie” and “La Pretention De Rien” and did them justice. Don’t let the language barrier put you off, you can feel the emotion and style through his performances with ease.
He is a performer and loves the stage, changing outfits and with an abundance of props he really makes an awesome live performance. His musical talents are also put on display through his use of the piano for more sombre songs and also the electric guitar.
