Band was great, sound was spot on. Only complaint is my same complaint with every show at The Basement, no good viewing angles.
Doors opened at 7pm, I was there at 7:07 and had to wait in line (Columbus was excited to see them!).
By the time I got in there, the pit and the rails around the pit and the area in front of the stairs to the pit was already full. This means the only place to stand is behind other people or behind one of the enormously wide support columns.
Luckily I'm pretty tall, but if you're under 6'2" and you aren't one of the first 50 people to make it to the venue, you might as well go home.
Back to the music though! The band was incredible and the addition of live drums gave it a more visceral feel than the clean studio recordings I'm used to from this group. That was great for me. I can hear the recorded versions whenever I want, but this live style is something you can only hear in person.
Afterwards they ran their own merchandise booth and were friendly enough to chat with fans, sign CD sleeves, take photos, etc. A great band and a band who appreciates their fans.
Such an amazing experience! I loved how the band came down onto the floor for an acoustic number, and the crowd stood around them in a circle. I'll never forget that experience. Thanks Handsome Ghost!
