Kiiara

Even though we waited for an hour after the posted set time for kiiara, it was totally worth it!

It's always a bummer when musicians' live performance sound exactly the same live as they do recorded, and given the highly produced/pop sheen of kiiara's music, I had a fear that this would be one of those shows. I was so totally wrong! She came on with a small band (keyboardist and drummer) and just having those two touches of instrumentals made such a huge impact on the live performance! That + the fact that her vocals are nearly perfect live as well made for a very good show!

BUT her set was only 30 minutes total, she played every song she's released PLUS 2-3 new songs and still only filled half an hour! No fluff, but still a very solid set, and I'm excited to see how she continues to evolve as an artist moving forward!

Sorry Kiiara, but I have to call you out for this one...

She was supposed to go on at 10:45pm (which was already ridiculous for a Monday night and doors opening at 7pm) and didn't go on until 11:15pm. Crowd was very restless. My friend left before she even came on because it was getting so late and she was tired of just standing there listening to Spotify play over the speakers.

Kiiara finally comes on stage, on LIP SYNCS HER ENTIRE ALBUM. Come on girl, we all knew you were faking it. I think the drummer was the only thing on that stage that wasn't fake. Good thing tickets were cheap, I would have been really upset if I spent a good amount of money on this show. Her openers were way better than she was. Overall very disappointed.

Good show! Short, but that's expected given she doesn't have a lot of music out yet. Glad she sang Heavy ;) She didn't really talk to the audience too much which I found disappointing, but I think that depends on the artist, it's maybe not her thing. But still, it would've been nice to have a more personal touch than just hearing her sing. She has a lot of energy on stage though, I'll give her that!

Not good. She waited 55 minutes to come on stage after her second opener... and to top if all off she lip synced to all of her songs. She had zero stage presence; I've never seen a crowd so uninspired. Sorry Kiiara - your performance last night was not the way you go about building a fan base. I won't be coming to any future shows.

Came on very late - had no energy on stage, and to add insult to injury she lip synced the entire set. She actually forgot to sing a couple lines in a verse and the track kept going while the microphone was at her side. Embarrassing.

She was terrible. She went on late and lipsync'd 90% of her songs. Only played half of the 10 she has and had zero stage presence. I am disappointed. This was not what I expected.

Kiiara was awesome in Chicago. The girls who opened up for her were SO GOOD, too. If you have a chance to see Kiiara perform you need to before her ticket prices increase.
