Known for his ferocious guitar skills fusing energetic rock with blues and funk, Sol Roots began his foray into the genre through gigging with blues legends such as Guitar Gabriel and Captain Luke. Accompanied by his professional band, Sol has toured extensively over North America with the aim of bringing roots music to a new generation. Watching Sol and his band play live there is no bounds to the passion which fills the room as the funky bass grooves warm your heart. The blues infused funk rhythm evokes the audience to shoulder shrug and click their fingers along to the beats as the band play tracks such as ‘Work It For Me’ and ‘Sweet Sugah Momma’. Slowing it down with more mellow tracks like ‘My Love’ shows off Sol’s soulful voice where you can feel every sentiment of every word. Playing a mixture of original and cover tracks, the band pay homage to artists who have inspired them such as: Jimi Hendrix, Curtis Mayfield, Miles Davies and John Coltrane.
