Lætitia Sadier is a French musician best-known as the singer of the post-rock band Stereolab. After the break up of first band McCarthy, Sadier and Time Gane formed Stereolab in the early 90's and gained success across Europe. Sadier was hailed for her revolutionary lyricism and her abilities as a multi-instrumentalist, this was seen as one of the driving forces of the band's overall successes.
This intriguing singer/songwriter has been involved with a variety of musical projects over her career, including prolonged collaboration with Pram's Rosie Cuckston in the form of Modane. She's also contributed backing vocals for Blur's top 20 hit 'To The End', so it is fair to say she has a diverse selection of material to perform when deciding on set lists for her own solo headlining tours. Her tender vocal sounds haunting and elegant all at once on opener 'Between Heaven and Earth', an epic, poetic piece of music with dreamy guitar and percussion supporting. 'Becoming', a Monade shows off Sadier's vocal range and her integral parts within the success of this outfit.
The largest spine chilling moment of the evening comes in the form of the finale 'Then, I Will You Again'. The intense, ethereal guitar and clapping bridge sounds wonderful as Sadier's vocal somersaults over notes on the high bar chorus. Setting off on a huge European tour this Autumn which will conclude in the UK, tickets are available now and highly recommended.
