Carl Stone presents the New York City premiere of DAIMATSU, an hour long multi-channel audio & single channel video work spun from field recordings captured both the US and Japan, with elements including shomyo chant from the Goma Fire Ceremony at the Koyasan Temple, tingsha cymbals from Tibet, instruments from the gagaku court orchestra of Japan, the sound of water boiling in preparation of tea, as well as secular sound elements from field recordings made in Tokyo, Gifu and other parts of Japan.
