The Danish String Quartet

The Danish String Quartet is a Carnegie Hall and worldwide audience favorite, whose playing on this stage has been called “ensemble music at its purest” with “the power to make you grateful for the very existence of music” (The New York Times). Tonight, the ensemble performs Ravel’s String Quartet, an exhilarating early masterpiece; Mozart’s Divertimento in D Major, K. 136; and arrangements of traditional Northern European folk songs—one of the quartet’s signature offerings and a poignant, ongoing source of inspiration and discovery for the musicians.
