Saw CHON in London, 16 Oct 17. The support was Yvette Young, very talented solo acoustic guitar/singer, but tended to loose timing during the technical sections.
CHON were excellent, sound quality was fantastic which can easily ruin a highly technical band like this. The gig was very enjoyable, but too short. They left the stage after 40 minutes. They came back for an encore and asked 'do you want to hear one more song? How about two more songs?' Which prompted chants of 'Three more songs!' from a crowd who obviously felt, like me, that they had paid for more than a 50 minute set. Hopefully they'll play for at least an hour in future. Still, if we're going by notes, rather than minutes played, we got our money's worth!
Also, it seemed strange gig etiquette for them to request that the crowd mosh, it's just not that kind of music.
I first saw CHON back in March when they toured with Circa Survive. I was instantly hooked and I've been listening to their album for about 2 months straight. If they're coming to your town any time soon I HIGHLY recommend going to see them. They put so much energy and effort into making it a good time for the entire crowd, not to mention both times I've seen them they've delivered a perfect performance. The amount of pure talent and musicianship they demonstrate is crazy especially considering how young they are. Never pass up the chance to see these guys play!
They were decent, but Between the Buried & Me and Intervals were amazing! I absolutely love the fun chaotic blend of styles of music that Between the Buried & Me create. We bought tickets to see them so Chon wasn’t why we were there, but still put on a good show!
