Jeffery Johnson Jr., aka. Roscoe Dash, has made quite an impression on the music industry with his hip hop tracks in the last 5 years. He’s been writing music since the age of 12, which is evident in his clever beats, catchy hooks, and eloquently structured lyrics. I’ve been following Dash and his music since the release of All The Way Turnt Up featuring Travis Porter back in 2009, and then through to his remarkably successful debut album, Ready, Set, Go. His position featuring on No Hands is probably what launched him into the mainstream eye, as it went platinum and earned several awards. He opened the concert with his 2011 EP J.U.I.C.E, before introducing himself to the cheering audience. He was super enthusiastic about his work and interacted really well with his DJ, ad well as connecting with the audience. The venue wasn’t sold out, so he called for everyone to move forwards in the venue to crowd closer to him to join in rapping and dancing with him. He then moved on to play from his mixtapes, such as Dash Effect, and The Appetizer, which was really cool.
He really got the audience behind him with his enthusiastic call outs to everyone, and at one point he even ran to the back of the stage and climbed on top of the DJ booth to dance more! The show went on for around 2 hours, and he didn’t seem to lose his energy at all which was incredible. He’s a very talented artist, and it becomes even more evident in a live performance.
