Biografia
Born and raised in Southwark, London, England, Kwabena Adjepong was introduced to the National Youth Jazz Orchestra by his secondary school music teacher. The vocally gifted Adjepong auditioned for the program and wasn’t just accepted, but actually sang lead vocals in the ensemble for three years. This essentially fast tracked him into studying Jazz in the Royal Academy of Music by the time he reached university, and in 2011, he was hand-picked by drum’n’bass superstar Goldie to join a band that would eventually perform for royalty on a BBC TV Show. Clearly, even before Adjepong truly started out on his own, he was already an artist and performer to be respected and reckoned with, but he was going to go even further than that very soon indeed.
In 2012, Adjepong signed to Atlantic Records on the strength of two cover versions that he put onto YouTube. The versions of “Like A Star” by Corinne Bailey Rae, and “The Wilhelm Scream” by James Blake that he posted went viral, but wisely, Adjepong (taking the stage name Kwabs from a shortened version of his first name) decided to wait and hone his skills as a songwriter before releasing anything straight away. Come 2014, the first of three E.P’s he released that year “Wrong Or Right” came out, and ever since then he’s become one of the hottest new artists in the U.K. With a further two massively acclaimed E.Ps to his name, and a live show that’s going from strength to strength, Kwabs comes highly recommended.

Such a soulful voice, only as what I can describe as the new age Gospel!
The Ghanaian born star has the perfect blend of synths and vocals along with striking choruses and tremendous power with each word blazing out of his mouth!
The rising star held the attention of the audience, everybody moved harmoniously to the beat and nobody dared to speak a word as he captured the attention of all.
Kwabs being be tipped by not only BBC's 1Xtra but also MTV as the artist to watch in 2014. With songs such as 'wrong or right' providing such a fresh sound, the UK music scene tends to be grime, pop, rap and hip hop. With a new style of artist coming through, the scene only grows and diversity which is much needed!
'Walk' gave the audience a feel of Kwabs true feelings and should become one his titular songs as it has a catchy piano and drums which summon the energy out of you! It's so motivating and inspiring, you can't help but move your head to his voice and with it your body begins moving to!
I recommend all to go and see Kwabs, because a day is soon going to come when there will be nothing but sold out signs all around the globe!
British/Ghanian Kwabena Sarkodee Adjepong better known by his stage name Kwabs found himself on a number of 'ones to watch' lists for 2015 in the UK after the young artist released a handful of soulful, mature singles in the previous year. Playing a selection of venues riding on the success of his European hit single 'Walk' has put him in good stead for the success that is sure to come when the debut album is released this September.
Recently he has been supporting fellow British soul sensation Sam Smith and although he is thrust onto large stages with sold out crowds, he handles himself and the audience well. A support slot is a difficult gig as the fans have really come to see the headliner yet Kwabs pained tones entrance the whole audience as everybody remains completely silent in order to concentrate on this talented singer. There is a smattering of cheers for 'Walk' and there is a definite feeling of a self fulfilling prophecy this evening as there is a good chance Kwabs will be headlining these esteemed venues himself in the future.
Absolutely brilliant concert by Swabs - loved the fact he performed familiar songs and songs that I'd never heard before! Need an album or release of those unfamiliar tracks!!
One of the best gigs I've been to in a long time.
