Biografia
Prior to becoming known for his musical output, Anderson’s creative excursions began in the pursuit of an acting career. Following early appearances in the television series “Doctors”, “The Bill”, and “The Whistleblowers”, Anderson landed the role of Omen in the 2008 British film “Adulthood”. On top of his acting however, the Bristol-native recorded the song “I Need Love” alongside Plan B, which later featured on the “Adulthood” soundtrack. Anderson starred in a further five feature films and a host of television series before signing with Columbia Records in 2013.
The same year the talented performer issued his free debut EP, “The Middle Child” under the pseudonym Raleigh Ritchie. Despite failing to chart the EP introduced the singer to a large audience and highlighted Anderson’s creative versatility. Six months later in January 2014, Anderson released his sophomore EP “Black and Blue”, led by the No. 30 UK single “Stronger Than Ever”. The single subsequently earned a remix by revered UK garage producer M. J. Cole and was featured on a number of television stations and shows. After releasing “Black and Blue Point Two” in April 2014 and the singles “Cuckoo” and “Birthday Girl”, Anderson toured in support of George Ezra on his Spring 2015 tour. Ahead of his debut, full-length album the singer/actor released the single “The Greatest” in 2015.

We’ve all heard the jibes and jokes levelled at actors becoming musicians. Not without good reason, if 30 Seconds To Mars is what happens when that scenario goes *well*. However, there’s a new generation of young folks coming up with a true education in performing in general and who’ve been honing their skills at both from a very young age. These young performers look like they can excel at both music and acting, leading the charge is Raleigh Ritchie (Jacob Anderson to his mum, and Grey Worm to the millions of Game of Thrones fans around the world) who balances a highly successful acting career with forays into the world of alternative R&B in his music. While it might not sound like music that would come across well live on the first listen, Anderson is a natural born performer who pulls it off through sheer force of personality. His charisma is magnetic, seeing the crowd in front of him as a challenge that he’s more than capable of living up to, armed with songs like his first major hit Stronger Than Ever and follow up Birthday Girl. His is a show that proves there’s a bright future for him in whatever he does, and it comes highly recommended.
This was my second time seeing Raleigh Ritchie and he did not disappoint! He is a very passionate musician and it was on display again last night. He is incredibly engaging and charismatic. He enjoys speaking with the audience and every 1-2 songs will engage the crowd with whatever he is thinking about. He is a great performer and the music was awesome! I will definitely be seeing him again next time he comes to Los Angeles, highly recommend to all!
I had an amazing time last night seeing Raleigh Ritchie at The Velvet Underground. Not only did he sound incredible, but he had such great stage presence. Speaking of stages, I loved the venue and how close and intimate the concert felt! This was by far my top concert in a long while!
