Devilishly handsome Sam Sparro took over the stage at Lovebox 2012 with fellow bandmates dressed in black. They performed Black and Gold, a sophisticated and sexy song that you can imagine being the soundtrack for a catwalk, but has actually been nominated for a Grammy for Best Dance Recording. The world has taken notice of Sam Sparro's presence, and awarded him so. He was GQ Australia's Man of Style as of 2012.
He's got back up singers and could be this generation's closest chance to substituting Freddy Mercury. Four minutes into the song, he points the mic towards the crowd and encourages them to finish the lyrics for him. Said audience is mainly male and stylishly dressed.
Sparro is a major pop star and being openly gay, he's clearly doing wonderful things for GLAAD. In 2009, GLAAD Media awarded him with Outstanding Music Artist. Sparro had just released his second album in 2012, and has made none others since. Good thing his songs are timeless, taking cues from disco and jazz. Unfortunately, "Return to Paradise" only made it to #41 on the Australian Albums chart, compared to his previous self titled album peaking at #4 in the UK.
