First on stage is Wonder Boy, a guy from Tennessee with blond curly hair and a cowboy hat.
He plays a genre that is similar to Clairo’s. Simple romantic songs with a lo-fi electronic base, but much simpler songwriting.
Then come Laundry Day, that range between rap and pop. The core of the band is the duo of Sawyer Nunes at the guitar and keyboard and Jude Lipkin as the main vocalist.
Clairo joins for a song and then leaves again.
When she comes on stage one is striken by her tiny figure. She is wearing a Adidas grey hat, a cheesy Christmas sweater and loose black jeans.
Her band consists of a drummer, playing behind a drum screen, a bass and a guitarist that doubles as a keyboard player.
The other members of the band never take a big place on stage, there are no solos or other opportunities for them to shine. Some of the songs use a recorded base as well.
Her songs are sweet and intimate, but very similar to each other.
The concert starts slow with Alewife and Impossible and it takes some songs before I get in the mood. Softly and Flaming Hot Cheetos are particularly liked by the audience that sings along.
I particularly enjoy the touching way she interprets Bubble Gum. Then she plays North, with a nice video rolling on the back. Bags comes in the middle of the set, at a perfect time. The song misses the second guitar support, so the instrumental part is less poignant. Clairo points that out herself by saying “second guitar” during the performance.
In general she is quite friendly and interacts with the audience, especially underlying that this is the last concert of the tour.
She accepts some gifts by people, such as a Uno-card.
For the encore she plays 4EVER, Pretty Girl.
She ends with a cover of I don’t think I can do this again, with all the supporting bands joining for a dance on stage. She starts to cry at the end.
I saw Clairo at Frost Theater in Stanford California on October 6th, 2024.
Despite it being egregiously hot, Clairo put on an energetic and enthusiastic performance. She was silly, engaging and always on point with each of her songs. You could tell she held a deep appreciation for her fans and she often engaged in light banter between sets as well as some clever theatrics particularly at the start of the show to get the audience pumped and excited for her performance.
I am not sure exactly how to categorize her music, perhaps neo-folk might be the best term I can come up with. Her songs are quite unique and unlike any other performer I have seen.
In a way I think Clairo is the queen of indie, although pulling crowds of 8,000 attendees does stretch that definition a bit. She certainly gained fame through non-traditional, quite viral means in her teens.
Now at age 22, she is clearly a seasoned performer and quite at home on the stage. It was a real thrill to see her perform live. It was definitely a performance that will be fondly remembered for it's uniqueness and musicianship.
If you get the chance to see Clairo live, make sure you seize the opportunity. She is an artist who has carved a niche that is distinct and memorable.
I love Clairo‘s music and have listened to her for a while, however I felt like she wasn’t too present on stage. She had her eyes closed and didn’t talk to us as mush as me and my friends would have hoped.
And because the two pre-performances were amazing - they really set the level of expectations on Clairo.
The mosh pit at the end was one of the best parts of the concert (in second place right after “Drown”), and that was mainly because laundry day came out and danced with us.
I felt sad to acknowledge that the bands before her seemed more comfortable on stage.
But I still thought she was really good at singing and that the set up, with the graphics in the background, were really nicely done :)
I understand that this was her penultimate show and that she was exhausted, with that said I would still buy tickets to go and see her if she would come to Stockholm again!!!

I just hope she takes care of herself.

Claire’s concert was cool! The price of the ticket was only €20 which is a really good price for the view you got. I was at the Academy in Dublin and even if you were in the far back, you still had a great view. The only thing I didn’t like was the fact that she sang really softly. I know that’s how she sings her songs, but it was a little hard to hear her. Besides that, it was great!
Clairo herself was incredible, but I purchased VIP tickets and when we went to take a photo with her they had us in an area with terrible lighting. Everyone who got VIP tickets around us complained this. We were almost front row but the base up there was to loud so you couldn't actually hear any of the singers. So we were forced to go near the back in order to actually enjoy the music.
She came on late and then over ran but as i had travelled so far, i had to miss the end 3 songs as i couldn’t miss the last train back home! Other than her coming on late and therefore over running, it was a great show. She looked amazing, the set was lovely, sound was wonderful and the crowd had the best atmosphere:)
clairo was amazing!!! she put on a great show and her opening acts were incredible. i personally love beabadoobee so the show was like a two in one deal. bea and claire are so pretty,,...,, im so gay for them jEez. whatta night we met so many cool people, the venue was great, all around 69/10 very epic
Clairo’s concert was pretty good. It had a cute stage set up and lighting. How could you forget her amazing voice and lyrics. I would just recommend that they turn the bass down a bit, because at certain points you could not here what she was saying because it was so loud.
