FAST TRAINS — LIVE AT THE DRAWINGROOM
A band on the brink. A sound you won’t forget.
Fast Trains arrive from Portsmouth carrying a reputation that’s growing louder by the month. Led by songwriter/producer Tom Wells, they channel the adventurous spirit of XTC, the emotional weight of Elbow, and the restless invention of Radiohead, yet land somewhere entirely their own — thoughtful, melodic, and instantly gripping.
Their music has already travelled far: international songwriting awards, national support tours, rousing festival sets, and a steady stream of airplay from BBC 6 Music, Amazing Radio, and BBC Introducing. Since the release of their debut album Escape to ourWorld in January 2025, the band have evolved into a live act with real voltage — rich, anthemic, and capable of shifting from pindrop intimacy to fullthrottle power in a heartbeat.
Critics have been quick to catch on:
• “Rich and beautifully produced.” — Tom Robinson, BBC Radio 6 Music
• “Absolutely superb.” — Charlie Ashcroft, Amazing Radio
• “Inventively melodic, harmonically clever, sparkling and invigorating.” — Neil March, Trust the Doc
• “Crafting anthemic, quirky pop… it’s no surprise Fast Trains are rapidly picking up support.” — The Unsigned Guide
This is a band still labelled “undiscovered” by some — but only just. Their live show tells a different story: bold, cinematic, emotionally charged, and built to stay with you long after the final chord.
Alissimon wil be opening and she is truly an awesome way to get the evening going...
