GEMINICRAB, SHEBAD, e SNACKTIME

Montreal-based high soul duo GeminiCrab brings together Félix Award-winning keyboardist/producer Caulder Nash (Jonathan Roy) and 3-time Grammy-nominated vocalist/producer Malika Tirolien (Bokanté, and vocalist on Snarky Puppy’s Grammy-winning Family Dinner). Blending R&B, soul, hip hop, and jazz, the duo has built momentum with a captivating sound shaped in part by experiments with binaural recording technology. Their 2024 album, Gen Y Lens, reflects the sonic influences and social realities of millennials. They are joined by Rémi Jean LeBlanc on bass and Ronny Desinor on drums.

Also appearing is SHEBAD, Ontario’s indie-soul/neo-soul collective led by visual artist/vocalist Claire Voy and multi-instrumentalist Ciccio Spagnolo. Known for jazz-influenced melodies, danceable basslines, and layered, transcendent vocals, the Guelph-based group brings a genre-blurring sound inspired by artists like Stevie Wonder, Hiatus Kaiyote, Amy Winehouse, and Daft Punk, with music that feels both curious and heartfelt.

Philadelphia’s beloved seven-piece soul/funk/alternative band SNACKTIME rounds out the lineup. Formed in 2020 through free concerts in Rittenhouse Square that drew huge crowds, the band has since become a major live force, selling out headline shows and touring with artists including Portugal. The Man, Fitz & The Tantrums, and Nathaniel Rateliff. With their funky, feel-good, brass-driven sound, SNACKTIME arrives at TD JazzFest’s Bullen Park as they continue their rapid rise.
