Desert stoner rockers PLANET OF THE 8S are back after an extended hiatus with new material and exactly 0.9 flightless fucks left to give. The mood is palpable, the riffs are outrageous, and the band remains ruthless in the pursuit of a good high. The live set is a thorough meditation on heavy groove and searing melody, a veritable Houdini routini where the journey is the escape and the escape is the point. “Bombastic groove, infectious choruses…every next track is a total banger” - Doom Charts
Providing support function for the evening will be Adelaide’s finest KITCHEN WITCH and Melbourne’s handsomest heavy psych apocalypsos JACK HARLON & THE DEAD CROWS.

Kitchen Witch at The Cranker on 5/2/16 was a great night . The main band Palace of the King was what I was keen to see but when I saw this bands name Kitchen Witch I thought that's a cool name and you tubed them and wow they sound great with that strong female voice going on and a bluesy rock sound yeah I could get into that .I could not believe this was a free gig and would of been happy to pay to see these bands anyway Kitchen Witch hit the stage and bang that voice grabs you and draws you in , so strong my thoughts go to an other band I love Blues Pills they are very simular in some ways . Their set was strong with a mix of blues rock and some songs had a bit of Sabbath / stoner feel to it . The band is still learning there craft but are well on there way to bigger and better things with the right help. After their set I went and got there cd and got it signed by the band and had a chat with them which was cool as they are all friendly and happy to talk . They are supporting The Sword in a few weeks and looking forward to seeing them again . I hope this gig gets them some good exposure and on the move they deserve it. keep rockin guy,s \M/ DR DUNCAN
