Mads Langer is a successful Danish singer/songwriter who rose to prominence with his cover of 'You're Not Alone' by the British band Olive. The musician has stated that Coldplay, Nick Drake, Rickie Lee Jones, Stevie Wonder, The Beatles and John Mayer are also major influences on his sound whilst his own vocal tones are often likened to Thom Yorke.
He released his debut album 'Attention Please' in 2006 through Copenhagen Records but this failed to gain him any real commercial success. The next self titled album fared better opening at #12 on the album chart and the first single lifted from it, titled 'Fact-Fiction' peaked at #17 on Denmark's official chart. The second 'You're Not Alone' also reached #17 and appeared on charts in Switzerland, Italy and Belgium and is seen as the pivotal point that Langer achieved international success and notoriety.
For his next album, the songwriter moved to London and signed with Sony Music. 'Behold' charted at #2 in Denmark on the album chart and featured a small hit single 'Microscope'. 'In These Waters' followed in 2013 and topped the chart, now holding a platinum selling certificate aided by the top five hit 'Elephant'.
His next album is due next year, so far he has released four singles from it including 'I en stjerneregn af sne' which topped the Danish charts upon release as well as 'Bringing Back Tomorrow' which peaked at #3.
